Mala - Our Latest Social Media Star
My name is Mala Levin, and I am 15 and a sophomore at Francis W Parker High School in Chicago, Illinois. I am the incoming social media intern at Preemadonna. I play tennis on my high school’s team, ride horses competitively throughout the year and write for my school’s newspaper and literary magazine. I have lived in Chicago all of my life, though I spend my summers in a rural part of Michigan. I am the middle child, of three children with an older brother who will be a senior and a younger sister who will be a 7th grader. We have a 10-pound malti-poo named Rosie who is also like a sibling. One huge part of my life is Horseback riding as I mentioned before. I have been competitively horseback riding at the national level for about 11 years. One of the biggest accomplishments in my equestrian career was going Reserve National Champion at Youth Arabian Nationals with my horse Rose last year. I love competing and consider it to be one of the main parts of my life. I have embraced the things that interest me including, women’s and gender rights and studies. As a competitive equestrian, I often reflect on how unique it is for female and male equestrians to compete together. One thing I love about horseback riding is how at least in the youth community how women-dominated it is which is very different from other sports which is so inspiring, especially to young women like myself. One of the reasons I love preemadonna is how it is so inspiring being very female-based. I am super excited to join the preemadonna team! I am thrilled to bring my interest in empowering and elevating women to preemadonna this summer – which at its core is place for young women to create and innovate artistically in a groundbreaking way. I am excited to work with all of the members of the team and to help out wherever I can in the social media department!
