Saniya - Our Rockstar Coder

Saniya - Our Rockstar Coder

Hi! My name is Saniya Randhawa and I am a Computer Science Intern for Preemadonna. I’m currently a senior attending Silver Creek High School. I’ve grown up in San Jose, but I’ve also lived in various parts of the world for short periods, such as India and New York, as I have family in both places! My hobbies and interests include coding, mathematics, playing sports, working out, and spending time with my friends and family. Along with that, I am a lifeguard at Clubsport and with that comes a gym membership, which I use to my advantage every other day. For a few years now, I have been running a dog-sitting business, and from this I’ve had the pleasure to meet a variety of dogs, that are of all sizes, breeds, and colors. I have a dog of my own and my love for dogs comes from him. His name is Snowy and in 2012, my dad rescued Snowy from an animal shelter, without informing my mom. Before rescuing Snowy, my mom was petrified of dogs and as you can formulate, there was a very amusing interaction that would occur - she arrives home from work and sees one of her fears, which leads my mom to immediately jump onto the counter and start screaming. As time went on, she started to love Snowy and now I genuinely believe my mom loves him more than her children. Speaking of children, I have two siblings: a twin sister and a younger brother, who is 15 months younger than me. Therefore, growing up in my house was chaotic as it felt like my parents had triplets. However, I’ve grown closer with my sister than my brother.

Preemadonna, for me, means learning, enhancing, and developing new skills, along with the opportunity to experience. I’ve always believed that experiences shape a person, and that is why I’m quick to take up opportunities that come my way. In my perspective, Nailbot is a very creative invention, which can help many young girls who prefer to do their nails at home possibly because of COVID-19. As a Computer Science Intern, I am working on the Nail the Code website, which is more of what I enjoy doing, as I love working front-end and as a web developer, using HTML, CSS, and JS. As provided by Pree, I am using previously created wireframes to create the website, which has been challenging and rewarding. Therefore, it is totally normal to struggle and make mistakes, as long as you continue to learn and grow from them.
