Howdy, Y’all!! 🤠
We just got back from Austin, Texas where we attended SXSW, a festival that celebrates the convergence of the tech, film, and music industries. We had a busy week of pitching Nailbot, painting, priming, and painting nails, meeting other female founders, and showcasing the Nailbot, so you could say it was an event-filled, action-packed week for us.
A highlight of the trip for us was the ability to be able to pitch Nailbot at the SXSW Pitch Startup Event. We were one of 45 finalists chosen to pitch Nailbot to a live audience of venture capital investors, high-profile media, and a panel of judges. We represented Nailbot in the Entertainment, Gaming & Content Category alongside 4 other companies. After the pitch event, weshowcased the Nailbot at “Meet the Finalists” which gave us the opportunity to meet the audience members face to face and show them the magic of Nailbot. We even printed the founder of We Rate Dogs Matt’s dog, Doug, on his nail. :)
We stopped by the Female Quotient's Equality Lounge, a space to empower females in the workplace and promote equality, where our founder Pree spoke on her entrepreneurial journey. She spoke alongside Marsha Stephanson, Founder and CEO of Cater to Mom, Sophia Cheng, Founder & CEO of Oddball, and Sajani Amarasiri, Founder & CEO of Keola Goodies. They each shared their career journeys, obstacles they faced, and how to best support female founders. You can catch the entire discussion HERE.
Lastly, we showcased the Nailbot at multiple events including Republic Rose on the lawn and a Celsius Community event with Female Quotient. The Celsius event was full of men rocking Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies printed on their nails all night long. Watch a quick recap of our time at SXSW below :)
